Hello! I went to see “The Wolverine” this weekend, and while I wouldn’t recommend it (at all), it did feature a famous haikyo (abandoned place) in Japan: The Nakagin Capsule Towers.
While, in the movie, it serves as the facade of a Love Hotel, in reality, the Nakagin Capsule Tower is a mostly abandoned structure built in the 70’s. Each apartment is a separate unit added to the main structure (kind of like legos). It’s impervious to Earthquakes, and has withstood many other disasters, however it’s falling into disrepair, and its fate is unknown at this time.
